CompanionCalendar.com – Easy to run pet photo contest
Making your organizations pet calendar contest your most successful is what it is all about!
But getting to who we are, well, actually, it’s really not so much who are we but who I am. My name is Andy Bates. I’m a web site developer (Lab Web Designs & Hosting) in Benicia, California.
In 2011 I was asked by the Humane Society of the North Bay to create a pet calendar contest web site for them. On this web site people are able to post pictures of their animal companions and then encourage their friends, family and co-workers to vote for their companions. The overall winner was featured on the cover of the calendar. The 12 runner ups were featured as monthly pin ups and the remaining top 50 had there photos placed throughout the calendar.
We priced votes at a $1 a piece, with an entry fee of $15. It has been a huge success, netting over $5,000 dollars for the Humane Society of the North Bay in six short weeks. The contest was so successful that I have developed a stand alone web application that Humane Societies and other non-profits can adapt and use as a fund raising tool.
